A Deep Dive into Freee x AI User Cases with Anthropic's Mr. Sugano and Mr. Chaen," we delved into practical case studies of business reform utilizing Freee x AI, as well as Anthropic's vision for the future of AI utilization, over a period of 60 minutes.

■ About freee Integrated World
"freee Integrated World" is a large-scale annual conference held by freee since 2024, connecting management and back-office operations. This year's event, held on June 16th, 2026 (Tuesday) at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza and Shinjuku Sumitomo Hall, marked the third time the event was held, with the name changed from "TOGO World" to the more approachable "Integrated World."

As the theme for 2026, when AI will become an indispensable business partner, numerous AI functions of various products and the latest practical examples in small and medium-sized enterprises and professional services were introduced. A diverse range of speakers, from top runners leading each industry to freee users on the ground, took the stage, and in addition to sessions to learn about the latest case studies, product utilization workshops and business consultation booths were also provided, offering experiences aimed at solving the challenges of each individual attendee.

■ Background and objectives of the session
Three and a half years have passed since the emergence of generative AI, and many companies have moved beyond the "try it out" phase and are finally moving towards the phase of integrating it into their daily operations. On the other hand, we still hear many voices saying, "I don't know where to start," or "I've tried it, but I don't see how to expand from here."
This session was designed to help those who are interested in AI but lack a concrete idea of how to use it in their own company take their first step towards actually using AI in their own organization, by focusing on numerous user case studies.

■ Talk Session Highlights

▼ AI is like a "super-talented but unfamiliar new employee"

The session shared a new perspective on AI, one that views it not as a "magical automation tool," but rather as "welcoming an incredibly talented new employee."

They possess almost any knowledge that can be found through internet searches, and they can combine that knowledge to propose ideas.
- Once taught, they will perform the procedure reproducibly according to the instructions.
However, they are also "newbies" who know nothing about the company's operations.

Accounting software IDs, management accounting figures, expense reimbursement rules, work regulations—only by teaching and nurturing these company-specific contexts can employees truly become valuable assets.

▼ APIs and MCPs that give AI "hands and feet," and freee

No matter how talented a new employee is, they can't do their job without the right tools. APIs and MCPs are the equivalent of a keyboard and mouse for AI. freee has been releasing public APIs since 2018 and currently offers 382 APIs. Having APIs available for each operation of a task, such as registering accounting entries, setting up account masters, and acquiring attendance data, is a prerequisite for entrusting practical work to AI. freee boasts the largest number of APIs among back-office tools in Japan, and its strength as a "foundation" for the AI era was highlighted.

▼ Claude Usage and Real-World Applications (Claude Code Demo)

Chaen presented a demonstration showcasing the practical application of "Claude/Claude Code × freee" in actual business operations. He shared numerous concrete examples of how freee × AI has eliminated manual data entry and data aggregation tasks. He shared his firsthand experience of how work itself is changing, shifting from "doing everything myself" to "outsourcing to an AI team."

▼ How should companies approach AI going forward?

AI agents are no longer just technology; they are becoming something to be welcomed into organizations as a "new workforce." The question is no longer "how many people can be cut with AI," but "how far can we expand our business capabilities?" In the dialogue with Mr. Kanno, a lively discussion took place, covering both the future of AI and the next steps that companies should take on the ground.

■ Thoughts behind taking the stage – What DigiRise aims for
Chaen's commitment to AI stems from its desire to "eliminate the negative aspects of work." With a vision to "bring the world's best AI tools to workplaces in Japan," the company focuses on supporting the introduction of AI to corporations and individuals.

"Mastering Claude Code can dramatically change your work"—this conviction is at the root of all our activities. From browser and chat AI to Claude Cowork and Claude Code that can control the PC itself, just as the wave created by ChatGPT three years ago permeated society, an even bigger wave is about to arrive. The next few years will be a crucial test of the true value of AI implementation.

■ Comment from Representative Director Masahiro Chaen
I had the incredible opportunity to speak on the same stage as Mr. Kanno from Anthropic, a company whose products I have long used and loved. It was a great honor to be able to share the stage with someone from one of the world's most dynamic AI companies. Above all, I deeply resonate with the philosophy that Anthropic upholds, and it was a truly valuable experience. As a fan, I wholeheartedly support Claude's future evolution.
